Hardcover. Zustand: VG-. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Good. 1st Edition. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with unclipped dust jacket that still shows the original price of $2.00 on the front flap. Included with the book is a card from the publisher stating the book would be published on May 8, 1940 and showing this was a review copy. The DJ shows scuffing and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/chips and small tears, though there is a larger tear, about 1.5-2" in the lower let corner of the rear of the jacket. Orange cloth boards underneath show some fading along the edges and a small dent at the rear board upper center edge. The internal binding is good and text pages are secure. There are no hinge issues, no handwriting, no signatures, no library markings, nothing torn or loose. Pages are a bit toned due to age and both end pages and pastedowns show darkened areas at the intersections, this was likely caused by reacting with the dust jacket paper over the many decades. The review copy card has been placed in a glassine envelope, so would not react with the paper over time.
