The book is bound in grey paper covered boards with blue titling on the spine, and is in very good condition. The contents are tight and clean with an inscription on the front free endpaper. The unclipped dustwrapper (illustration by Biro) is very good with some shelf wear and light soiling. The spine ends are lightly bumped.

Clément Richer, Martiniquais né à Fort-de-France en 1914, nous embarque ici pour une croisière bien particulière, entre mer déchaînée et rencontres inattendues. Après des études en métropole et une première uvre remarquée en 1941, Richer s'impose comme un conteur des tropiques, mêlant l'exotisme à la psychologie des personnages. Dans ce récit, on retrouve son goût pour les destins singuliers, les îles lointaines et les passions qui s'affrontent comme les vagues contre la coque d'un bateau. Ce roman porte en lui l'esprit d'un auteur qui a su capter la beauté et la violence des mers, tout en explorant les mystères du cur humain. Exemplaire bien conservé.
