Colbert had been in O'Neill's Dynamo that spring, and would start making her name in Hollywood that year. Nice collection. Gensler wasa composer, producer and director; Colbert was in his production of See Naples and Die in 1929.

Stamp of the club's in-house photographer Ernest Brooks on the verso. Over the course of his short career in show business, Todd worked as a producer for theatre and film, most notably producing t…he 1956 Academy Award-winning film "Around the World in 80 Days." He is perhaps best remembered now as Elizabeth Taylor's third husband, the only one whom she did not divorce (Todd died in a plane accident a year after their marriage). Founded in 1929 at 132 West 58th Street by a former bootlegger, the Stork Club served as a symbol of café society for the wealthy elite of New York. After being raided by Prohibition agents in 1931, the club moved to East 51st Street, where it remained until its closure in 1965. 10 x 8 inches. Very Good plus, lightly age toned.

In den WarenkorbTwo vintage publicity portrait photographs of French-American actress Claudette Colbert in 1948. One with the stamp of Universal Pictures photographer Claudette Colbert on the verso. From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901. Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the…early 1930s, and was the first still photographer to win an Academy Award. He went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures, where he worked well into the 1950s. Colbert was offered a seven-year contract with Paramount in 1940, but declined after learning she could command far more money as a freelance artist. The decade proved to be the height of the actress' career, and she was the film industry's highest-paid star in 1942. 8 x 10 inches. Very Good plus.
