Contains essays on the languages, flora and fauna, and the histories of the regions Denham and Clappteron visited on this expedition. The volumes also contain a survey of Lake Chad. Lacks the labels on the spine, spines worn, the front board of volume one starting but remains attached. The title pages' bottom edges trimmed just below the date, a bookplate on each front pastedown.
