He studied interior and furniture design at Sint-Lucas School for Architecture in Ghent (Belgium) and was involved in the distribution of international design brands, until he established Extremis (1994), a label and brand for his own designs. Extremis' outdoor furniture designs quickly grew into an international standard of excellence.
