This dictionary should prove valuable to gardeners all over the world, offering a different general account for each genus followed by descriptions of individual species and established hybrids. These volumes also include articles on garden technique and arrangement, as well as definitions of horticultural and botanical terms. Volume one contains A to CO, volume two CO to JA, volume three JE to PT, and volume four PT to ZY, with volume five being the additional supplementary work. Volumes one to four are edited by Frederick James Chittenden, a British horticulturalist, author, and first director of the Royal Horticultural Society Wisley Garden. Volumes one to four are bound with the original unclipped dust wrappers while the supplementary volume has been price-clipped.
