Il suit son père à Dresde où ils restent de 1945 à 1957. De retour en Russie, il s'inscrit à l'Ecole d'Art Répine, d'abord en sculpture, puis par manque de matériau en "art plan". Il est renvoyé en 1959 pour non conformisme aux normes de l'art réaliste socialiste et doit alors exercé divers métiers. Vyotsky was a Russian actor, poet, lyricist and folksinger. His social and political satire spoke of the ironies and hardships of a strictly regulated Soviet society. His music was not recorded or distributed in Russia until after his death, except through underground recordings made during his performances in clubs and bars. He was an immensely popular figure who was revered by Russian people even after his death in 1980. A dozen copies in *OCLC*, eight in the U.S.

A two-volume monograph on the art and life of Mihail Chemiakin through 1985. Volume 1 describes the artist's early years in Leningrad (St. Petersburg), his artistic theories and early drawings, still lifes, illustrations and portraits along with photographs of the "happenings" in Chemiakin's studio and on the streets of Leningrad; his forced departure for France and his life and work there. Volume 2 is dedicated to Chemiakin's series of "Transformations" - reinterpretations of existing art works or artifacts; and to his first five years in the United States, where he continued to experiment with new techniques and themes, creating series of works in pastel on black paper and large textured paintings. Throughout the two volumes Chemiakin comments extensively on his own work and on the work of his contemporaries, both Russian and European.
