Inscription in "This book belongs to" box on front free endpaper. No other inscriptions and no foxing but there is a small Christmas sticker top right of first page.

Title page undated, the British Library date this scarce little children's book to 1921, a tale of a circus coming to town and an escaped circus lion, the book is nicely illustrated by the artist Will Owen, Will was well known at this time for his book illustrations, including the covers and illustrations for the W. W. Jacobs nautical novels, and cartoon strips in the newspapers of the day. A small slim format, 60 pages, illustrated with black & white drawings within the text, and full page colour plates. Covers have generally darkened with edge rubbing wear, lacks the paper back strip covering to the spine, boards loosened but holding, internally browning to endpapers and light browning to pages else in good acceptable condition, a very scarce Will Owen illustrated book. This is a lighter item, shipping costs will be reduced accordingly at checkout where possible.
