Hardcover. Zustand: Good-. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, brown cloth boards quarter bound with leather to spine and half bound to corners. Spine it is banded with gilt text. Exterior shows edge and corner wear and rear board is missing on a section of the cloth at the top. Interior binding is good, no hinge cracks noted, no torn or loose pages. Dark brown end pages in front and rear. The only handwriting found in book is on the second end page where at the top is penciled the signature M.+ M. Evans. Also found inside the book at page 164 is a small emblem with the words "Lewiston Finish" and decorated in red and gold. There is also a funeral invitation card addressed to Martha Evans (the owner of the book) stating they are particularly invited to attend the funeral of Benjamin S. Fisler M.D. and is dated June 14, 1859. Over the many decades this ephemera has reacted with the paper on pages 164/165, so both pieces have been put into glassine envelopes and placed back into the book for safekeeping and will stay with the book. Overall book is in VG condition but the cloth damage on the rear board is why the condition grade has been lowered.…
