[1] Coloniae Brandenburgicae (Berlin Cölln), Ulrich Liebpert, 1692, in-folio 31,50 cm, (8)nn pp (title, dedication to Eberh. Danckelman) + 167 pp, with many engravings in the text and 5 plates outside the text (complete). Bound with item [2] in later full vellum binding (pastiche binding), leather title label on spine, with engraved armorial ex-libris (engraved by Martin Tyroff in Nürnberg) of Ernest-Friderich III of Saxony -Hildburghausen. [2] Coloniae Brandenburgicae (Berlin Cölln), Ulrich Liebpert, 1700, (20)nn pp (title with vignet, dedication, preface, index) + 103 pp + (18)nn pp (coin index) + 12 pp (Beger's notes) + 68 engraved plates of coins (20 to 24 coins each plate). Nice and interesting collection of two books by Lorentz Beger with great numismatic interest. The first work is famous because it mentions for the first time the famous Roman sarcophagus of the Pamphili collection. The second work is very rare. Beger rewrites here a study by Jacob de Bie (1581-1640) , numismatic collector and print-maker of the Southern Netherlands , first published in 1615, then 1627, with commentary by Albert Rubens (son of the painter). The study describes the collection of the golden roman coins of Charles de Croij (1560 - 1612) He was a famous collector ; also known for his collection of the ''Albums de Croy'' which offer a rich iconography of his estates in the Netherlands. Lorentz Beger (1653-1705) was librarian to the Elector of Brandenburg Friedrich III and also responsible for his art collections. The second work is dedicated by Beger to Elector Friedrich III 2 years before he became Friedrich Ist, king of Prussia.
