In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. This is a remarkably well-preserved three-volume collection from the "Stories of the Universe" series, published by the Review of Reviews Company in New York. These volumes represent the early 20th-century push for public scientific literacy, written by experts in their respective fields. Included Titles: • The Story of Animal Life by B. Lindsay: 193 pages, featuring 26 detailed illustrations and a comprehensive index covering everything from one-celled animals to the evolution of man. • The Story of the Earth by H.G. Seeley: A fascinating look at 1909-era geology and "the earth in past ages." • The Story of the Stars by G.F. Chambers: A foundational handbook for 19th and early 20th-century descriptive astronomy. Key Highlights: • Matching Bindings: All three volumes feature matching burgundy-red cloth with iconic globe-and-quill blind-stamped covers. • Vibrant Gilt Spines: The gold-stamped lettering on the spines remains exceptionally bright and legible. • Illustrated: Each volume is rich with period-accurate scientific diagrams, figures, and frontispieces. Condition: Very Good+ (Antiquarian) • Internal Pages: As seen in the photos, the pages are clean and crisp. There are no handwritten notes, underlines, or significant foxing. • Age-Toning: The paper has a lovely, uniform cream-colored age-toning that is consistent across all three volumes. • Binding: The bindings are tight and square. The gutter between pages (as seen in the photo) shows no signs of splitting or cracking. • Exterior: Minimal shelf wear at the spine ends and corners. The cloth remains vibrant with no major stains or sun-fading.…
