A very large and heavy, hardback book, quarterbound in leather, all four corners in matching leather, all finished in gilt braid design, gilt title impressions on the spine. For its age, the book is in reasonably good to fair condition, unfortunately the spine covering has split slightly, however the book is still strong and all 349 pages are still intact. Beautiful marbled inside, front and back pages and edge of papers. Normal wear, tear and marks apply consistent with use and age. There is the odd foxing mark, but on the whole all pages, text and lovely illustrations are in really good, clean, readable order. Please note as this is a large heavy book, (weighs approximately 3.5KG) postage/shipping cost, may increase from listed price, depending on final destination. After title page is a page which has printed a copy of the " Letter from Cardinal Manning" Archbishop's House, Westminster dated October 22, 1877, with facsimile signature of Henry Edward Manning, Archbishop of Westminster. Its a truly beautiful book that deserves to preserved, for future generations.
