In 4°; (12) pp. Brossura dell'inizio del novecento con motivi floreali in amaranto. Un piccolo restauro al margine interno delle prime due pagine. Uno strappetto alla seconda carta senza perdita di carta. Prima e assai rara edizione di questo componimento dedicato ad uno dei patrizi veniti più importanti del seicento, Antonio Priuli (1548 Venezia 1623), per celebrare la sua elezione a Doge. Nello stesso anno uscì un altro esemplare stampato a Venezia da Ciotti. "Priuli fu 'venturiere' nell'armata, portando con sé soldati armati a sue spese. Fu per due volte governatore di galea. Ebbe poi il provveditorato di Peschiera nel 1573. Al ricordo della battaglia di Lepanto (1571) si lega anche il prestigioso matrimonio contratto nel 1580 con Elena, figlia dell'eroico ammiraglio Agostino Barbarigo." da Treccani. Il componimento è scritto dal celebre filosofo centese, Cesare Cremonini (Cento, 22 dicembre 1550 Padova, 19 luglio 1631) che fu a lungo docente di filosofia a Padova. Secondo alcuni studiosi Galileo si ispirò a Cremonini nella scelta di Simplicio come rappresentante dell'aristotelico avversario del copernicanesimo. E' comunemente riportato come Cremonini fu tra i professori di Padova che si rifiutarono di guardare attraverso il cannocchiale di Galileo. «Abbiamo qui l'Ill.mo S.r Andrea Morosini, il quale non può patire che 'l Cremonino, mentre V.S. è stata qui, non habbia procurato né voluto vedere queste sue osservationi, havendole io detto ch'ella se gli era offerta di andare sino alla sua propria casa per fargliele vedere; onde le pare che habbia torto contrariarle senza haverne fatto qualche esperienza.» P.
