The book was originally published in France in 1969. ***Near fine in the trademark Pelican Latin American Library colours - black and whi…te printed turquoise-blue and white covers. The covers have some marks and creasing commensurate with age and handling, but are actually remarkably clean. There is some light rubbing to the edges, but no serious creases or tears. The spine has no reading creases but is slightly curved from reading. The covers, including the spine, are unfaded (please see scans). Internally also near fine with a previous owner's name stamp (COSKER) on the half-title page, but no other inscriptions or annotations. No tears. A few top corner tips slightly creased. Internally the pages are clean, although the paper has tanned over the decades. ***574 pages plus two pages of other titles at the back of the book. 182mm x 110mm. ***'This "Guide to the Political Parties of South America" is a collection of ten essays which give a clear picture of the party set-up inside every South American state, from the Peronist circles of the Argentine to the Accion Democratica of Venezuela.
