RARE. Very good. Ceneau was a French Catholic theologian and historian. After graduating from the Sorbonne in 1513, he served successively as Bishop of Vence, Riez, and Avranches. He was a vigorous antagonist of the reformation and sought to repress "Lutheranism". This work is on the history of weights and measures in France "with a view to encourage uniformity." â" Martin Bucer p. xii. The fifth part deals with the calculation and use of the abacus [f.57].
