Internally, there is mild tanning and foxing throughout, but there are no markings or inscriptions, and the pages within are crisp, clean and complete. The binding is secure. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, three colour plates, seventy-two monochrome plates, and numerous in-text engravings. Written by Cecil Sharp and Paul Oppe. Cecil Sharp was the leader of the twentieth century folk-song revival in England, writing the influential work 'English Folk Song: Some Conclusions'. He also revived the tradition of country dance, as well as promoting Morris dancing, and founding the English Folk Dance Society. Oppe was an art historian and art collector, who was the Deputy Director of the Victoria & Albert Museum, and a Fellow of the British Academy. Collated, complete.
