Very good minus with all spine edges frayed, corners worn, spine faded and cocked, lacking the dustwrapper. Inscribed by H. Snowden Ward and dated December 1910 on the front fly.

First edition hard back binding in publisher's original Brunswick green Bancroft cloth covers, gilt title and author lettering to the spine, small gilt vignette to the upper panel of Gaput Thomas - one of the leaden Pilgrims' Signs, top edge gilt. 8vo. 8½'' x 5½''. Contains red and black printed title, [xii], 321 + 2 pp with 50 full-page monochrome photographs and illustrations throughout by Catherine Weed Barnes Ward, two sketch maps in the text, two fold-out maps of the pilgrims way tipped-in to the rear. Ink name to the front free end paper, one plate with loss to the top corner not affecting the image, light rubbing to the spine ends and corners and in Very Good square and sound condition.
