Als Grundlage diente die "Geoponika" des Cassianus Bassus aus dem 10. Jahrhundert, der wiederum aus der Exzerptensammlung des Vindanios Anatolios aus dem 3./4. Jahrhundert schöpfte. Die stark erweiterte und modernisierte deutsche Übersetzung umfasst in 20 Büchern das damals bekannte Wissen über alle Gebiete der Land- und Hauswirtschaft, wobei sich allein das vierte bis achte Buch mit dem Anbau und der Herstellung von Wein beschäftigen. Die anderen Bücher mit Kapiteln zur Feldarbeit, zu Bäumen, Kräutern, Bienen, Pferden, Viehzucht und Fischerei. - Der Holzschnitt zeigt eine Europakarte umgeben von 12 Winden. - Etwas gebräunt, vereinzelt fleckig, die beiden letzten Blatt mit kleinen Restaurierungen am Rand.
