All three volumes are illustrated with engraved plates, diagrams, and charts, some of which fold out. Boards and spines worn, corners bumped, soiling to the boards of Volume Two, owner names on the front pastedown of Volume Two, and a few pages with some foxing, good or better. Casey's highly influential book of infantry tactics used by both sides of the American Civil War; a revised edition was issued in 1863 specifically for use by African-American soldiers.
