Draft script for the sixth episode of the first season of the 1979-1981 NBC television series, which aired on October 25, 1979. Based on the 1929-1967 comic strip character created by Philip Francis Nowlan. Developed for television by Glen A. Larson and Leslie Stevens, the NBC science fiction series ran for two seasons and 32 episodes, and premiered on September 20, 1979, ending on April 16, 1981. The series' two hour premiere was released as a made-for-TV movie and released theatrically in March 1979. The twentieth century astronaut Buck Rogers emerges out of 500 years of suspended animation in the twenty-fifth century and becomes Earth's greatest hero. In this episode, Buck and Wilma seek the help of a retired fighter pilot and his legendary "Fighting 69th" squadron to go after a notorious gunrunner who has stolen a stockpile of 20th century nerve agents.
