Illustrated with photographs throughout, some of which are in colour. A account of the expedition of John Baptist Lucius Noel, a British mountaineer and filmmaker best known for his film of the 1924 British Mount Everest expedition. With still images of the drama and tragedy of the expedition, outlining the extreme weather conditions and complex technical demands of high altitudes. Written by his daughter, and only child, Sandra Noel. With a foreword by Brian Blessed, an English actor known for his distinctive bushy beard, booming voice, and exuberant personality and performances. Blessed has attempted to climb Mount Everest three times without supplemental oxygen never reaching the summit, and is the oldest man to have reached the North Magnetic Pole on foot. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart with minor wear only. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
