Vintage insert poster for the 1969 film. Based on the 1955 novel "His Bones are Coral" by Victor Canning. Gunrunner Caine (Burt Reynolds), stranded in a small coastal Sudanese town, is enlisted by the attractive Anna (Silvia Pinal) and her alcoholic partner Doc (Arthur Kennedy) to dive into shark infested waters for a purported scientific expedition, but is actually for sunken treasure. Set in the Sudan on the Red Sea, shot on location in Manzanillo, Mexico. 14 x 36 inches. Near Fine. Nilsen, Warped and Faded. Olive Films.

Published in 1914 to mark the Centenary of Lord's Cricket Ground in its present location. A reprinted edition was issued in 1920. First Edition. 4to. xvi + 314pp. Frontispiece, 1 further plate, numerous text illustrations. Original quarter morocco over navy blue boards, gilt titles to spine and front. Edges of spine are rubbed, corners bumped. Small mark to back cover. Short contemporary gift inscription to fly-leaf. Top edges gilt. A good copy. [Padwick, 1003].

Responding to Clark's request for a photograph. Canning assisted Charles Tilston Bright in the laying of the first Atlantic cable in 1857 and 1858, and supervised the manufacture and laying of the second and third Atlantic cables in 1865 and 1866. After the third Atlantic cable was successfully laid, Canning oversaw the successful retrieval of the second cable, which had broken and sunk prior to the completion of its installation.
