Two stokers, "Turk" (Victor McLaglen) and Como Murphy (Preston Foster), who is fleeing the law, aboard the freighter "The Coyote" are unknowingly in love with the same girl, "Toy," (Dell) who lives above "Mother Bright's," the toughest saloon on the lawless, waterfront 'Barbary Coast' district of San Francisco. Dell's debut, a rapidly rising star who would tragically die at nineteen in an auto accident, three months after the release of "Wharf Angel's." Set in the 'Barbary Coast' district, San Francisco.
