Folio (21 x 32cms), bound in contemporary or near contemporary vellum with manuscript title to the spine, binding strong but vellum worn and age soiled, evidence of medieval manuscript vellum showing on the inside of the binding, contents very good, most pages remarkably clean and crisp, some very neat near contemporary manuscript annotation to the blank margins, single old stamp to the front blank which also carries some old manuscript notes, a little minor worming to the last leaves of the second work but confined to the blank fore edge margin, just a few pages slightly watermarked to fore-edge. * a very good copy of these two RARE early 16th century commentaries bound together in one. Both commentaries in Latin on Books of the New Testament and both printed in Paris. Copac (Academic and National Library Catalogue) lists just one copy of the first held at Cambridge and also listed in Adams 148 and four copies of the second work held at the British Library and Cathedral libraries. £2000.
