Cet ouvrage est divisé en trois parties. La première renferme des "considérations générales su…r les eaux minérales". La deuxième est consacrée à démontrer les "avantages de l'établissement de Messieurs Triayre et Jurine, et des eaux minérales factices pour le traitement de plusieurs maladies" (rhumatismes, affections cutanées.) ; l'auteur cherche à montrer la supériorité que les eaux factices ont sur les eaux naturelles dans un grand nombre de circonstances. Dans la troisième partie, il donne le catalogue des eaux minérales artificielles (Aix en Savoie, Bagnères de Bigorre, Bagnères de Luchon, Balaruc, Bourbonne, Cauterets, Mont-'Spa, Vichy, ) en indiquant leurs propriétés physiques, chimiques et médicinales ; les modes d'administration sont également précisés. Jean-Marie Caillau (1765-1820), né à Gaillac, étudia la médecine à Bordeaux et devint Président de la Société de médecine de Bordeaux.

The first part of the book contains the French translation by doctor J.M. Caillau. The catalogue (or bibliography) signals the Leiden edition of 1655, in-4°, as the first edition of the Latin text. This late 18th century Bordeaux edition is rare.
