This particular edition was the second with Clarke's annotations.Julius Caesar's accounts of his campaign in Gaul and Britain between 58 and 50 BC, and his description of his participation in the 49-48 BC Roman Civil War are accompanied by Clarke's observations.Illustrated with a frontispiece, one folding plate, and three folding maps. Collated, complete.With further supplementary commentaries attributed to Aulus Hirtius and others.With a bookplate from the North Library, dated 1860, with a blind stamp bearing the same coat of arms to the first few pages.Ink annotations from a previous owner, M.
