This 1860 edition provides a comprehensive overview of contracts, incorporating American case law and topics of importance for practicing attorneys and law students in the United States. Jonathan C. Perkins, a well-known American legal writer and editor adapted the text for use in the United States by incorporating relevant American caselaw. The previous owner may well be Samuel Baker Woods (1856-1952), the celebrated Virginia lawyer and businessman who became the first Mayor of Charlottesville, Virginia.
