Scarce children's book with verse by Pauline Geffen and striking art deco, jazz age illustrations by C E Miallard. Only 5 copies found in instituttional holdings searched by Worldcat. This copy is worn but complete. Bound in full orange cloth with wrapround pictorial design in green and black; spine unlettered, as isued. A fingernail sized gouge with loss to the cloth near the tail of the spine; binding shaken and weak in the joints. Cloth rubbed a little at edges with moderate shelf soiling to surfaces. Handling evidence to pages with here and there a short nick or tear to a page edge and light scattered soiling. Prior owner name penciled to front pastedown. Millard's pictorial designs executed in a combinations of orange, green and black, some in-text, others full page. They are quite striking and fanciful with decided Art Deco and Jazz age flourishes. Scarce, this copy is Good only at best.…
