Half calf over marbled boards, VG+. 178+[ii]+178+[ii]pp attractive small binding, contrasting red & black lettering pieces, binding a little rubbed, contents in fine condition. small vignette at the end of the text, bound without titles, but including the dedication to each part. Two volumes bound together from the popular Percy Anecdotes series, which was intended 'to combine instruction with amusement; with scrupulous regard to truth, to probability, and to morals'. They were published in 40 parts between 1820 & 1823. 350 grams.

Volumes 2, 3, 7 and 9 featuring the topics of Hospitality, The Bar, Youth, George III, Genius, Shipwreck, Fidelity and the Fine Arts. Half leather with gilt decoration and titling to spine. Rubbing to leather with some minor splitting. Marking to paper boards. Occasional light foxing within. But generally clean, bindings tight. Good condition.

Externally generally smart. Boards are lightly rubbed in places. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean throughout, save for some light spotting to the first and last few pages as usual. Ink inscription to title page dated 1868. Very Good. book.
