I feel some apology is needed for any further reference to that over-written subject, the War, but the book contains nothing whatever of military value or interest except the most convincing testimony that a good many members of his Majesty's forces, myself included, ought to have been court-martialled for spending a great deal more of our time in amusing ourselves than we were paid to do.
