Slightest bit of wear to outer wrappers (only), else tight and internally near fine, with the usual light age toning of text block. Superb first edition, entirely in French, of this study of (translation) "The originality of The Yellow Loves and… its influence on T.S. Eliot." Tristan Corbière (1845-75) was an obscure French poet whose sole book ("Des Amours jaunes," 1873) rocketed to fame long after his death. Eliot praised it and it influenced his work -- as this study by the American educator and Jesuit priest Burch (1931-2013) attests. Errata slip tipped in. Scarce and this a lovely copy.
