In den Warenkorb8vo, pp. viii, 240; a very good copy, uncut, in the original boards (rebacked with new paper). First edition: there was a second edition issued in 1831, which appears (from comparison with the BL copy) to be a close reprint, with a new preface, rather than a reissue. It seems that the book was read over by James Montgomery whils…t it was still in manuscript. Buchannan came from Whitby, where the book was printed by R. Kirby; the first poem is also set there, with the ruins of Whitby Abbey playing a part in the melancholy plot of lost love and early death.
