Brush's third published book, a collection of eleven stories, all reprinted from popular magazines of the day. Brush had published her first story in 1924, and over the next few years contributed numerous stories to various pulp magazines (Argosy, Breezy Stories, etc.). Henry Memorial Award Prize Stories collection, and made it possible for her work to appear in higher-class magazines such as Cosmopolitan and The New Yorker. (She continued to publish in College Humor, however, an association that would serve her well when her work began to be regularly sold to Hollywood in the 1930s, where she was eventually agented by H.N. Swanson, who had been the magazine's editor throughout the 1920s.).…
