Ink signature for "Mr. (or Mrs.) Hodgesis Book 1740" on rear endpaper. Rear free endpaper is detached and partly missing. Ralph Brownrig (1592-1659), Bishop of Exeter from 1642 to 1659, spent much of that in exile from his see, preaching mainly at the Temple Church, London. These sermons were published posthumously.
