Edges and corners worn, spine ends chipped, label residue at top front cover. Title page is detached and chipped. Minor chips, tears, stains, thumb marks throughout. Ink signature for "Mr. (or Mrs.) Hodgesis Book 1740" on rear endpaper. Rear free endpaper is detached and partly missing. Ralph Brownrig (1592-1659), Bishop of Exeter from 1642 to 1659, spent much of that in exile from his see, preaching mainly at the Temple Church, London. These sermons were published posthumously.
