Proceedings of the New England Zoological Club 1916-38. First entry is 1916, numbered 39-50 plus 4 color plates. Second entry is 1917, pages 57-72 + 3 color plates. Third entry is 1919, pages 100-114, plus 4 color plages. Fourth entry is 1920, pages 65-78. Next entry is 1922, pages 1-77. Next is 1924, pages 11-21. and so on until 1938, containing all of Clark's notices of newly identified Sphingidae. This copy with inscription on the front endpaper, 'A birthday present to myself from myself on September 2, 1949. Lincoln P. Brower. Madison NJ.' Brower was a young man of 18 and already seemingly certain of his passions and his path when he bought this for himself. This copy also has the name Eugene G. Smyth stamped in script on the front cover of the first offprint. Smyth was a noted butterfly man himself, born in 1886, and led a long, public, career in the field.
