This was written by Frank Brocklehurst (trainer and advisor to the UAE on health and safety laws, and advisor to the Dubai International Rally), and Lt Col Saeed Khalfan (senior officer in the Dubai Police, Chair of the Al Nasr Motor Sports Club, rally driver and organiser), introduced by Brigadier Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Commander in Chief of Dubai Police. It covers traffic rules and regulations, and tips for safe driving. The photos show various auto-centred views of the UAE. The text is adapted to local conditions, eg, with a warning about animals with a photo of a camel crossing a highway (p50), and a section on "wadi bashing" (pp72-73): "It is inevitable that once you have obtained a UAE license you will want to see more of this beautiful country than the area in which you live. Going into the interior over old caravan trails and visiting the ancient heritage of the UAE is a trip that many people contemplate. Beware, such journeys can be dangerous".
