Collated complete.Growing up on a small Wiltshire farm, Richard Jeffries always had a deep appreciation of nature, and these two works encapsulate this love brilliantly, as we are taken through both the countryside surrounding Brighton and the Sussex Downs (Fields) and leafy London (London). Jeffries can be seen to inspire many nature writers to this day. In the publisher's original cloth, with Fields in the original clipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart, with minimal marks to boards. Slight knocks to the head and tails of the spines, and to the extremities. Dust wrapper of Fields is generally bright and clean with slight fading. Signs of edgewear to wrapper, with a chip to the head of the wrapper spine, and a heavy chip to tail of wrapper spine.
