About the book >.>.> This two-volume work was originally planned to commemorate the seven-hundredth anniversary of Dante's birth, in 1965. Its central feature is the catalogue, in Volume One, of all im-portant more or less fully illustrated codices of Dante's poem. To com-plement the catalogue there are some eleven hundred miniatures from a much more extensive body of materi-al, and these form the contents of Volume Two. Professor Brieger has arranged the subject matter of the catalogue, and Professor Meiss pro-vides the discussions of styles and dates.
