Gebraucht - Sehr gut sg - ungelesenes mängelexemplar, gestempelt, mit leichten lagerspuren - Das künstlerische Schaffen von Moshe Gershuni ( geb. 1936 in Tel Aviv) überspannt mehr als 40 Jahre. Sein umfangreiches Werk ist kompromisslos und vielschichtig, es umfasst Gemälde, Zeichnungen und Skulpturen. Eine große Unmittelbarkeit zeichnet seine Arbeiten aus, was sich in der Malweise zeigt: Gershuni breitet Papierbögen auf dem Boden aus und kriecht darüber, dabei verteilt er die tropfende, manchmal blutrote Farbe mit den Händen auf dem Malgrund. Das Einbeziehen historisch aufgeladener Symbole oder Passagen aus jüdischen Gebeten in hebräischer Schrift in viele Gemälde lässt das Entstehen der haptischen, überquellenden Farbflächen und scheinbar unkontrollierten, gewissermaßen vorsprachlichen Kompositionen zur theatralischen Performance, zum rasenden Ritual werden. Sinnlich und konzeptuell, emotional und kritisch-distanziert, authentisch und doch bewusst inszeniert, überwindet Gershuni in seinem uvre Gegensätze und lädt die Zeichen der Erinnerung mit der kathartischen Wucht des malerischen Aktes auf.Ausstellung/Exhibition: Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin 12.9.-31.12.2014.
