In den Warenkorbvi, 53pp; xii, 193pp; xxxii, 58pp; 338pp 33x22, dark blue cloth, black and gold label on spine, glt text Cloth and first three reports very good, gutter of the Return damp marked, not affecting text. These reports mark the efforts of the House of Commons to ensure that the Cheap Trains Act 1883 was being properly implemented. The Act had excused railway companies from paying passenger duty on cheap fares, but in return required them to run cheap trains for workers, at least in part to make it possible for the lowest paid to move out of crowded city centres to new housing schemes. Huge amounts of fascinating detail. [heavy item, may require additional postage to some destinations].
