Prize plate stuck to front pastedown. Clean pages and illustrations with light tanning and mild foxing throughout. Minor tanning to free endpapers due to dust jacket flaps. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Lettering is bright and clear. Minor wear marks to boards. Unclipped jacket. Panels and spine have light edgewear with tears and creases. Visible wear marks to spine and panels.

Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with light foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are a mildly crushed, with small splits and chips. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

Hardcover. Zustand: Good. Undated but circa 1910 (and definitely not the first edition of 1868). 128pp, with colour plate frontispiece. Red cloth-covered boards with printed illustration on upper panel, printed decorations on spine. 12mo. Boards rounded at corners and spine ends, slightly sunned over spine with a few minor marks on rear panel. Text block edges a little toned. A hint of spotting on endpapers else internally neat, clean, bright and tight.
