Su fuerza proviene de la inconformidad, del malestar ante un mundo que se afirma en la exclusión racial y que ha ejercido el colonialismo -ideológico, económico y político- sobre las nuevas generaciones. Su "nosotros" no es un nosotros universalista, no estamos todos mencionados (diremos, en paráfrasis al texto). El presente libro puede leerse como un manifiesto descolonial para el siglo xxi o, más puntualmente, como una invitación al amor revolucionario, que no pertenece al romanticismo, sino a la justicia. Es éste un llamado a descolonizar el mundo, a reconocer que el privilegio de unos cuantos se construye sobre la opresión de muchos. Sibien es cierto que Houria escribe desde su contexto como pensadora franco-argelina, lo hace desde la vivencia propia,en los barrios racialmente segregados de París. La cualidad más importante de los textos que marcan hito es encontrar, desde una particularidad, lo que es común a los humanos. Al mencionar indígenas, la autora se refiere a "los colonizados" por Francia, y al evocar judíos, los invita a reconocer su pasado común. Esta misma convocatoria podría leerse en clave latinoamericana, con los pueblos autóctonos excluidos, con la invitación a reconocer las diversas historias y filosofías en el territorio común. El testimonio de un iracundo autorreconocimiento aguarda en estas páginas que no se conforman con exponer, o sólo señalar con reticencia teórica. Reside aquí un modo apasionado por convocar a un solo cauce en beneficio de todos.
