Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Hip Hop Urban Fiction Some People live ordinary lives, while others live extraordinary lives. This young Bronx-kid, named Baser, decided early-on that he was going to be the latter. He began as an aspiring rapper, along with his becoming involved with a black militant group in Harlem. Baseer…developed this revolutionary undertone, and his group began using their music to address the social ills that existed in their city. Eventually, that revolutionary mentality evolved into a criminal one for Baseer and Powerful. That's when they both began to engage in a life of petty crime, landing themselves behinds bars for a short stint.

Eliza Orzeszkowa (June 6, 1841 - May 18, 1910), was a Polish novelist and a leading writer of the Positivism in Poland during foreign Partitions. She was born to a noble Pawlowski family in Milkowszczyzna, and died in Grodno (now Hrodna, Belarus) nearby. At the age of sixteen, Eliza married Piotr Orzeszko, a Polish nobleman twice her own age, who was exiled to Siberia after the January Uprising of 1863. They were legally separated in 1869. She married again in 1894, after a 30-year-long loving relationship with Stanislaw Nahorski who died a few years later. [Translated by Jaroslav Rozvoda] [Czechoslovakia (Czech and Slovak: Ceskoslovensko, Cesko-Slovensko) was a sovereign state in Central Europe that existed from October 1918, when it declared its independence from the Austro-Hungarian Empire, until its peaceful dissolution into the Czech Republic and Slovakia on 1 January 1993].

Zustand: Very Good. First edition hard back binding in publisher's original illustrated burgundy cloth covered boards, blocked and lettered gilt back, cream, green and russet illustration to the front cover, publisher's device blind stamped to lower cover. 8vo. 8'' x 5¼''. Focuses on another series that first appeared in provinc…ial local newspapers across England, including the Manchester Times, the Leeds Mercury, and the Newcastle Weekly Courant in the period 1895 to 1900. One of the novel's multiple narrators was the Honourable Augustus Champnell, whose detective adventures are examined here. A number of these detective stories starring Champnell were published both before and after Marsh's success with The Beetle, not only do these stories have a fascinating publication history, they also feature one of the first aristocratic private detectives in literary history, appearing some 20 years before Dorothy L. Sayers' Lord Peter Wimsey, meaning that they offer intriguing explorations of the class dynamics of Victorian police-work and criminality. Contains tissue-guarded frontispiece, (vii), 310 pp + 16 pp ads. Oval indigo stamp to the first story from Newcastle-on-Tyne Police Library, finger marks to the text block edges and in Very Good bright condition. Extremely scarce. Member of the P.B.F.A.
