Later (nineteenth century) quarter calf and papered boards; covers moderately rubbed; edges a little tanned and spotted; occasional chips and marks internally; some early annotations to the text; one leaf of the first section (pages 75/6) supplied in facsimile; two sections of four leaves each lacking from the 'Advertiser' section (pages 71-78 and 123-130, apparently discarded when rebound); slight loss to the final leaf (an advertisement); mild signs of age and use; notwithstanding, a presentable copy of a very rare item. Provenance: Sir Thomas Meek Ramsay (1907-1995), of Kiwi boot polish fame, with his blindstamp on the front free endpaper.

Blue cloth lettered in gilt on the spine and front cover, and extensively decorated in blind front and rear; textblock expertly recased, with minor conservation to the ends of the spine; front free endpaper creased; trifling signs of use and age; an excellent copy.

Flush-cut cloth boards rebacked, with the bulk of the original spine retained; cloth a little marked, with minor silverfish damage; a few trifling marks to some pages; a very good copy, rare in any condition. Not least of its many attractions is 'The Farmers', Gardeners', and Vignerons' Calendar', revised by George McEwin (13 pages).

Some of the advertisements contain woodcut illustrations; the two 'a' leaves and an adjacent one in each case are printed on orange paper. Flush-cut blue cloth with the full title page details repeated on the front cover, and advertising on the rear one; cloth a little mottled and marked, with minimal fraying at the edges; trifling signs of age and use; a very good copy. The very large oval blindstamp of 'Howell | Bookseller | Rundle Street | Adelaide' appears at the head of the first leaf of the first index.

Provenance: Thomas Gill (1849-1923), public servant and local historian, with his signature on the flyleaf and index page, and his manuscript amendments on five pages.
