Am Unterrand handschriftlich bezeichnet (unleserlich). Ausgezeichneter, tiefschwarzer Druck auf Bütten von "F J Head" (mit Wasserzeichen). Charakteristische Radierung des renommierten schottischen Radierer, Aquarellmaler und Zeichner Muirhead Bone. Aus Sammlung Stinnes (Lugt 1676 a). - Muirhead Bone begann zunächst eine Lehre als Architekt, widmete sich dann jedoch der Kunst und studierte an der Glasgow School of Art. Er spezialisierte sich auf Druckgrafiken. Seine Radierungen zeigten oftmals industrielle oder architektonische Objekte, aber auch Landschaften. 1901 ging Muirhead nach London, wo er sich in der Kunstszene etablierte. In der Zwischenkriegszeit unternahm er Reisen u.a. nach Italien, Frankreich und in die Niederlande und präsentierte seine Werke auf zahlreichen Ausstellungen in namhaften Galerien, u. a. in London und New York.
