Price clipped inside (via a torn corner). The cloth hardback also slightly faded around spine area and age toned to edges. With Jonathan Cape bookmark/postcard. Soundly bound - no endpaper splits. Some tone marks to first and last endpapers. Text is very good throughout - nice and clean, and includes lovely woodcuts by Freda Bone. This is the Publisher's binding for the 1935 edityion the book first published in 1931. Top edge gilt, and a small label seems to have been removed from ther front free end-paper. The head and tail of the spine a little rubbed commensurate with shelf-life and there are small creases to the first couple and last couple of pages which probably occured during the binding process.
