A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth and gilt fresh, with a touch of rubbing at the extremities. The contents are clean throughout, and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the better than very good lightly creased dustwrapper, which has a couple of small scratches to the rear panel and a lightly faded spine. A collection of nine essays providing a critical evaluation of the concept of popular culture and examining the experiences of lower social classes in the period from the Reformation to the Industrial Revolution. There are three items laid in: a card from the person who got the book signed inscribed "Ron - thought you might like the book. I had J & J sign it. RG (?)"; a printed copy of Jimmy Demaret's obituary; and a handicap chart from Champions Golf Club dated August 25, 1976. There is chipping loss along the bottom of the front flap fold and the lower part of the rear flap fold. A very good copy with outstanding HoF signatures. Signed - Asociation.
