Very scarce work. Illustrated with a frontispiece, twenty-three plates, twelve of which are in colour, and a folding map to the rear. Collated complete, map detached but present. An account of the joyous pageant held in Old Ranelagh Gardens, Royal Hospital, Chelsea, between June 25th and July 1st, 1908. It was a festive celebration of Chelsea's history from its ancient origins to the present day, an event in which local residents dressed up as historical figures, and where plays and music were performed. Edited by G. A. Lee, R. Blunt and J. H. Quinn, and with selections of music from Ernest Bucalossi. In the publisher's original pictorial paper wraps. Externally, worn with chipping and light loss to the extremities. Further loss to the rear board and spine, with a 3" tear to the spine. Rear hinge starting but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. The folding map is detached but loosely inserted. Good. book.
