Inthis thesis, amphiphilic block copolymers weresuccessfully applied as templates for the controlledformation and defined positioning of metal and metaloxide nanoparticles arranged in periodic patterns onflat surfaces and in polymer nanofibre structures.Furthermore, a method was developed to arrangenanoparticles in desired nano-structuredmicropatterns on flat substrates using thecombinations of 'top_down' and 'bottom-up'approaches: a self-assembled monolayer ofhexagonally ordered block copolymer micelles loadedwith gold precursor salt was used as a resist forlithography. Two diffrent energy sources wereapplied to selectively modify and pin the micellesto the substrate: UV light and s Focus Ion Beam.
