Hardcover cloth (maroon) over boards. 8vo. 486, 6 pp. Illustrated with a b/w engraved frontispiece, a b/w engraved map, and 76 b/w full-page and in-text engravings. Gilt ornament of an arctic scene stamped on the front board; gilt title stamped on the spine. Decorative brown…endpapers. Head darkened. Minor age toning. Text block appears clean, unmarked, and square with a strong binding. The spine and boards are slightly worn with bumped corners. Cloth is fraying/chipping slightly in the front hinge. Very good condition overall.
